This home originally had significant mold growth that we thoroughly treated and scrubbed away. There was also discoloration on the foundation walls that indicated moisture entering through the foundation. We used our waterproof wall insulation to fix that. This insulation is a highly effective solution that fully insulates the crawl space and home above. Additionally, their old vapor barrier was not sufficient to prevent moisture from entering through the ground, so we installed a thicker, heavier-duty barrier. Also, we closed all unsealed airways with foam board and expanding spray foam to prevent outside air and humidity from entering. Lastly, we installed a dehumidifier to regulate moisture levels and prevent mold re-growth.
Why did we do continual inspections at this property?
This customer is part of our Service Maintenance Program (SMP). We offer continual inspection to all of our customers to ensure their home stays protected. These inspections include dehumidifier maintenance, wood moisture readings, humidity readings, quality checking, and overall evaluation of conditions in the space. Our SMP program also includes 2 Carolina Casa T-shirts and a 20% off discount on any future work needed if new problems arise.
